‘Plastic Oceans’ – Riptide Movement

I’m a bit behind the times but I finally managed to listen to Riptide Movement’s most recent single and I love it. Following on from their successful tour and critically-acclaimed releases it’s been amazing for the lads. It looks like there’s no sign of them slowing down with their new single ‘Plastic Oceans’.

The fantastic chorus that’ll leave you feeling empowered also has a very important message. The track is a call to spread environmental awareness that our beaches, coastlines, rivers, cities and towns need to kept litter free.

Speaking on the track, lead singer for the group Mal Tuohy states:

“We’re honoured that our music will help raise awareness of one of the greatest environmental challenges of our time. Our reliance on single use plastics is destroying our oceans, so well highlighted by David Attenborough in Blue Planet 2. As the saying goes, ‘there are plenty more fish in the sea’ but if we can’t stem the tide of plastic, by 2050 there’ll be more plastic than fish in our oceans. The future is in our hands.”

The song is excellent and literally hits all the right notes! Have a listen here and let us know what you think?
