This week sees the return of Irish Cancer Societies Heroes From Home campaign. It is an initiative that sees streamers and content creators across Ireland, run streaming events in order to raise money for those affected with cancer.
Currently there are more than 75 streamers the have signed up to take part including, DeeBeeGeek (58.8k followers), Rannerz (9.8k followers), CakeJumper(8k followers), and IrishGenesis(6.9k followers). You can watch the Irish Cancer Society Twitch page stream some of the streamers involved, as well as getting a full list of streamers signed up, on the Heroes From Home website.
With streamers big and small taking part, gaming community has rallied behind this great cause and is attempting to turn Twitch yellow for the week! Streamers play a range of whatever titles they like, set creative fundraiser goals and collect in-stream donations, from generous viewers.
Daffodil Day
Daffodil Day, supported by Boots Ireland, takes place this Friday March 26th and for the second year in a row the Irish Cancer Society can’t be on the streets. Craig Tyner, from the digital team at the Irish Cancer Society, said:
“The gaming community have really gotten behind this initiative and we are seeing people use their communities and influencer to make something wonderful happen. At a time when we are all online more than ever we are so grateful for the support of these streamers and their audiences,”
