PlayStation’s first State of Play of the year was packed with juicy details on big releases. One such update revealed a new Death Stranding 2 trailer, now titled Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. It is set to release in 2025.

The beautifully whacky trailer, built in Sony’s Decima Engine, shows some returning characters in Sam Bridges (Norman Reedus), Fragile (Léa Seydoux) & Higgs (Troy Baker), as well introducing Elle Fanning and George Miller in unknown roles. There are some glimpses of the main cast on a mobile base known as Magellan, so it looks like you will connecting more of the world to save humanity, with locations such as deserts, cities and mountainous areas to explore. Check out the trailer below.

Physint – Kojima’s New IP

It wouldn’t be a Kojima update without a surprise. Not only did we see some new gameplay and story beats for DS2, PlayStation’s Herman Hulst introduced Kojima-san and announced his new IP. Tentatively called Physint, the game will be an Action Espionage title, incorporating cutting-edge technology.

It is described as an interactive game and movie at the same time, with the best talent in sound, acting, fashion to create the theme and story. Production will begin after Death Stranding 2. It seems multiple arms of Sony, with PlayStation and Columbia Pictures will work alongside Kojima Productions to create this title.

The beautifully baffling Hideo Kojima is set to keep our interest for another couple of years, as he will soon enter his 40th year of games development. There is a documentary coming soon to Disney+, that will showcase this visionary create. Keep an eye out for a release date for Hideo Kojima: Connecting Worlds.
