Magic Makeover – Style Saturday

Monday was the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone and fans everywhere were celebrating. Be it with their special edition copies of the book or by making their Facebook pages a little more colourful!

I figured I’d get in on the action and share some Hogwarts Houses makeup inspired looks. There are so many talented makeup artists out there that have Hogwarts House pride, so why not send a little love their way.

Ravenclaw

For the Ravenclaw makeup look, I was torn between a few different tutorials but the one I settled on was a more demure look in comparison to the other houses. However, I think it suited the house well nonetheless. The tutorial by KlairedelysArt has thousands of views and I can see why. It’s simple, elegant and lovely.

Slytherin

I found this look from aimee_darkness to be really eye catching. The utilisation of the house colours, green and silver, was well presented. I loved the attention to detail with the scales.

Gryffindor

This makeup tutorial by Kayla Hagey is well explained, easy to follow and the resulting look is stunning. I could see myself wearing something like this… if I was a Gryffindor of course!

Hufflepuff

Hufflepuffs are so underestimated as a house. They are often treated as after-thoughts but they are flashes of light in the darkness.

This look created by fx.cat is super wearable but really bold and strong. Just remember, although badgers may look cute, they can be pretty vicious when they need to be.
