Having made all his fans swoon in Paris, Amsterdam, Germany, and of course Ireland, Kpop sensation Dabit ended his European Tour on Tuesday November 17 at the Cork UCC Fanmeet.
All thanks to Japako Music for finding this gem and bringing the first ever Kpop idol to Ireland, we are sad to see Dabit finish his European Tour but, needless to say, it ended with a bang!
During the fanmeet Dabit sang songs from his new album ‘Up & Down’ including the song ‘The Rain Song’ which was so relevant to the awful weather in Cork during the event. The inspiration behind the song was that even though we hate to go out in the rain, we are willing to do so for that special someone, just like how all the fans came out to see Dabit despite the stormy weather outside.
Followed up with the preview to his album, Dabit opened up the floor to a Q&A session to answer the questions of his fans, such as “describing the perfect date”, “how many hats do you have?”, and “what did you like best about Ireland?”, all to which Dabit somehow managed to answer in terms of food!
After the Q&A session, the hosts of the event had set a special ‘Blind Date’ game with 3 fans who all tried to win over his heart, (not hard when all you need to do is mention food). The lucky fan that was chosen by Dabit with her persuasion of pizza was then invited to have a ‘date’ on stage with Dabit.
Once sated with the pizza from his date, Dabit performed more songs such as the title song from his album ‘Up & Down’ which the audience danced along to. He then went on to a more intimate performance by serenading to a few selected fans, with a bit of ‘skinship’ by hugging and making cute gestures too. He finished by pulling Virginia Clinberghe of Japako Music onto the stage and giving her all his attention whilst ending the song by handing her a rose.
With the expected ending of his performance, seeing as how this was his final event in Europe, Dabit performed an encore, by singing a few cover songs to which the fans were very lucky to witness as he had never performed them on stage before. He sang ‘Don’t Know Why’ by Norah Jones, and ‘Put Your Record On’ by Corinne Bailey Rae.
Dabit and his team from KoffeeDream took this opportunity to say a few words of gratitude to not only all the fans across Europe and Ireland, but to the amazing staff of Japako Music. Virginia and Sandie were invited onto the stage where the members of Koffee Dream handed them gifts and thanked them for all their hard work and patience in organising his European Tour.
The event soon came to an end with the fan signing and a group photo with all the fans.
Dabit often described his love for Ireland and the Irish food and the “cows on the hills” so we can expect his eager return to the land of the green. Till then, we wish the best of luck to Dabit and, of course, KoffeeDream in their upcoming event in Canada and in all their future endeavours!
