We Kicked Butts And Ate Nuts!!

Brighten your Tuesday up with the news that we have found our Squirrel Girl and New Warriors cast. We were all sort of super stoked when the project was announced some time back then the casting rumours began to fly. At one stage both Anna Kendrick and Shannon Purser had expressed real interest in the action comedy series as lead character Squirrel Girl.

Now though we know that comedian Milana Vayntrub will portray the unstoppable force of joy and energy that is Doreen Green aka Squirrel Girl.

Additionally the rest of Marvel’s New Warriors cast has been announced. Derek Theler (Baby Daddy) is Mister Immortal, a guy who says he can’t die. Jeremy Tardy (Dear White People) will play Night Thrasher, a non-powered brawler. Calum Worthy (Austin & Ally) is our Speedball with the ability to generate kinetic energy projectiles. Matthew Moy (2 Broke Girls) plays Microbe who can communicate with germs and Kate Comer (The Comeback) is Debrii, a low level telekinetic.

The series is the first action comedy super hero television series from Marvel so it’s heading into somewhat untested waters. Just how well audiences takes to Marvel’s New Warriors show is anyone’s guess but here’s hoping that Squirrel Girl’s charm rubs off.

Marvel’s New Warriors is set to air in 2018.
