In this week’s EwTube we bring you some of the best TV opening songs in their entirety – everyone knows that the secret to a successful television show, isn’t the actors, the script or the effects, it’s in the theme song!
With that in mind we’ve gone in search of some of the catchiest theme songs from cartoons to soaps, dramas to comedies. You can’t blame us if any of these end up stuck in your head for the rest of the day or week so be warned they are all very catchy.
Pokémon Theme Song
This theme song still manages to give us serious goosebumps. Running home from school to catch the latest episode of Ash and Pikachu’s adventures! The show was never the same after they changed the theme song unfortunately.
This song is performed by Jason Paige, the lead vocals who contributed to other Pokémon songs; Jason is also a stand up comedian.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
We have never ever forgotten the words to this song, planked in front of the television on a Saturday morning, Fox Kids on and the volume up to the last. A blanket pulled over our heads and cornflakes with hot milk – the perfect Saturday morning had to include the Power Rangers.
A sad little fact, Trini, the first original Yellow Power Ranger, Thuy Trang, died in a car crash – she was always our favourite Power Ranger.
Darker Than Black
If you haven’t heard of this Anime, you have to check it out and expect a review coming from the @rcade very soon!
Portal
Ok while not technically the opening song for one of the greatest puzzle games ever made, ‘Still Alive’ is still one of the most memorable parts of the game and yes… we have it on our mp3 player. Remember folks…the cake is a lie!
True Blood
Probably the sexiest theme song and intro to a show ever – Bad Things is the smash hit opening song for the True Blood series. Performed by Jace Everett, from his album ‘Jace Everett’ released in 2006, the song became a hit worldwide in 2008 and was re-released in 2008 after the show caused the song to become one of the most downloaded theme songs ever.
