Over the last two weeks, you, our geeky readers have been casting your votes and having your say about the best parts of 2010. Everything from your favourite video game to the best YouTube video maker and now we can finally say that the results are and we have them right here!
Before we announced our winners though we would like to thank each and every single one of you for taking the time to have your say and to tell us what you enjoyed so much about 2010. Exactly 1,286 of you told us what you thought of the gadgets, movies and music so here are your results.
Best Video Game

Halo Reach was released on the 14th of September 2010 developed by Bungie and published by Microsoft Game Studios. On it’s first day of release the game reached over $200 million in sales and was to prove that even though the economies around the world were tightening up and people were counting their pennies that video games still had the power to part us with our cash and Reach was certainly a game worth the price. Bringing us back to the events that saw the near eradication of the Human race at the hands of the Covenant we enthusiastically took on the role of Six as we braced for battle and made our last stand.
Best Movie

It is the movie that proves just how cool geeks and gamers really can be! Brought to us by Edgar Wright and based on the fantastic books by Bryan Lee O’Malley, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World was a treat for fans of the series and for those who just wanted to geek out. Colourful, imaginative and humourus, the movie was able to translate the same witty jokes, personalities of characters and the general mayhem of Mr. Pilgrim’s life. If you didn’t see this film in 2010 then get 2011 off to a great start by renting it now!
Best Album

We are honoured to announce the winners of the Album of 2010 as ‘Love Life & Limb’ by Irish band Preachers Son. In a category with tough competition with artists from all around the world and some tough homegrown competition too, it is great to see a band with such passion and drive claiming this award. Love Life and Limb is an album with raw heart and pure soul, this is music at it’s best and we are eager to see what 2011 has in store for Emmaline and Michael.
Best TV Show

In it’s third season now, the HBO television series based on the books by Charlaine Harris has taken the award from some other fantastic TV shows. With the fourth season almost finished production we are all curious to see how Sookie Stackhouse will cope with the changes in her lives after a dark secret was revealed to her but we won’t get a chance to see it all until the summer.
Best YouTuber

She is the woman who can make you look like you just walked off the set of a big Hollywood movie production (although the movie could possibly be The Human Centipede). Glowpinkstah has proven her popularity by beating off tough competition and some of the other most well known YouTubers. With an infectious laugh, a cheeky smile and some of the most original videos on the site, we look forward to see what Glow has in store for us all in the coming year!
Best Gadget

It has changed the way we not only play our video games but we interact with our consoles. Kinect for the Xbox 360 is the revolutionary new way to game and was one of the must have gifts of 2010. With a whole heap of games under it’s belt to keep you busy, Kinect turned the player into the controller and has brought us all one step closer to a more active role in playing video games.
