The new Spider-Man game launches on PS4 this Friday. I don’t remember when I was last this hyped for a game. Actually, I do, it was Breath of the Wild, but that was different because I played it prior to launch and knew it was gonna be stellar. This hype comes with that accompanying apprehension of “Please be good. Please be good. Please. Be. Good.”. So I’ve been listening to the classic ‘Spider-Man Theme’ on loop.
No word of a lie, I have been waiting for this game since the Catwoman sections in Arkham City. Using a whip to swing from place to place and cat claws to climb walls was impossible for me not to compare with webslinging and it was the finest example of it at the time. Replaying Spider-Man 2 on the Nintendo Gamecube just wasn’t gonna cut it anymore.
Speaking of Spider-Man 2, here’s Michael Bublé singing his updated version of the original 1960s theme song for the movie that spawned it.
