Thirty years ago Bruce Willis‘ iconic John McClane made his on-screen debut in Die-Hard. With Die Hard 6 on the way, the film’s title is now available, giving us an idea of what to expect. Previous titles such as A Good Day To Die Hard and Die Hard With A Vengeance emphasized adventure and action aspects.
However, the new installment of the series, titled simply McClane, implies a more personal focus. According to Empire Magazine, the film will be an origin story of sorts, flitting between Willis as the current McClane and the character in his 20s.
Little else is known at this point, but the film will presumably put a closer focus on McClane as a character. Additionally, given its nature as a prequel, the film will likely flesh out McClane’s origin story. Whether the new title will see the return of Jai Courtney as McClane’s son is unknown. No release date is currently available.
