With the annual D23 Expo kicking off this weekend, we have already got a few new details about Toy Story 4. On ABC’s Good Morning America, we learned a few details about the film’s plot, which will focus heavily on a love story between two characters we already know and love. This love story will be between fan favourite Woody and Bo Peep. The two characters’ romance has been present in the first two films, but sadly Bo Peep was not present in Toy Story 3. While the details on the story were few, we will be learning more later on throughout the coming days at an animation panel with John Lasseter at Walt Disney Animation and Pixar Animation Studios.
With the previous claims that Toy Story 4 will not exactly be a direct continuation to the Toy Story series, but a brand new chapter in the world, it raises a number of questions about how the film will play out. Will Woody and Bo Peep still know each other? Where has she been? Is this a reboot? These questions will most likely be answered later in the coming days.
Toy Story 4 is being co-directed by John Lasseter and Josh Cooley and will be adapted from a screenplay by Will McCormack and Rashida Jones. Most of the previous cast members will be returning to reprise their roles.
Toy Story 4 is currently slated to release on June 16, 2017.
