What better way to celebrate the legendary rock opera turning 40 than have a brand new re-imagining of the cult classic on Fox TV?
The Rocky Horror Picture Show Event, as it’s been dubbed, will be a new version of Brad and Janet’s wacky adventure, with the original score and script, but with re-done visuals to bring it up to modern standards. Coming from Deadline, the event will be directed by Kenny Ortega, of Hocus Pocus fame, and produced by Lou Adler, who produced the original, and is in the works as we speak.
The original film is based on The Rocky Horror Show, a musical and book by Richard O’Brien, who starredin the 1975 film alongside Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon and Meat Loaf. It still screens regularly around the world as it has become a staple of alternative culture and a widely celebrated b-movie classic.
