Rowling And Radcliffe Talk Superfans And Books
‘Tom Felton meets the Superfans’ aired last night, it’s a BBC documentary where Felton best known for his role as Draco Malfoy meets and interviews some of the most devout fans and followers of various shows/movies/books. Last night we got the chance to see how his co-stars and the author of the acclaimed Harry Potter books feel about the fanaticism that surrounds them.
Speaking about the books and the value/impact of literature, writer, J.K. Rowling says “That’s something that literature or any form of art [has]. It’s one of its most powerful effects is to tell everyone ‘No you are not alone’“.
Daniel Radcliffe who played Harry Potter across the movie franchise spoke about how he understands how and whypeople become obsessed with the books/movies and world of Harry Potter but he has never felt comfortable with people being obsessed with him.
Speaking about obsession Radcliffe said, “If you’re going to be obsessed with something, being obsessed with books or films is pretty good. Some people are obsessed with heroin“.
