Newcomer Artist Takes on Batgirl
Starting in October with issue #25, a newcomer artist will take over the internal art for Batgirl. Barbara Gordon has always been a fan favourite, but after her sudden ability to walk again, completely throwing aside almost any mention she was Oracle, is left a bit of a sour taste in the mouth.
Writer, Gail Simone, really brought her A-game to the series, I must admit. She made Babs kick-ass and relatable again.
One thing we always see floating around sites like Tumblr is when artists give super-heroines a new look. They redesign their outfits with the idea of comfort and practicality in mind, and this time it looked like DC listened.
Meet Babs Tarr, our new Batgirl artist. Tarr was approached because of her unique style and designs, giving Batgirl a complete makeover. A comfy long sleeve top and leggings? A pair of Dr. Martens? We never thought we’d see the day!
The series will be written by Cameron Stewart and Brian Fletcher.
