Bryan Singer has taken to twitter to make our Wednesday morning! The producer/director, has been updating his followers about plans for the next big X-Men movie, the follow up to the extremely successful ‘First Class’ which saw the series jump back in time to the origins of the X-Men and the events that led up to the bitter rivalry/friendship/bromance between two of the greatest mutant minds in the world, Professor X and Magneto.

Literally only a few hours ago, (fourteen to be exact), Singer announced that Michael Fassbender, James MacAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult would all be returning for the next film and then he blew our socks off with news that Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Patrick Stewart would also return to the franchise and reprise their roles as the Masters of Magnetism and Telepathy. Don’t believe us? Check the tweets below:

… told ya so!

“Days of Future Past” is a popular storyline in the Marvel Comics comic book The Uncanny X-Men issues #141 and #142, published in 1981. It deals with a dystopian alternative future in which mutants are incarcerated in internment camps. An older Kitty Pryde transfers her mind into the younger, present-day Kitty Pryde, who brings the X-Men together to prevent a fatal moment in history which triggers anti-mutant hysteria.”

Now given the setting of First Class, the fact Kitty Pryde wouldn’t have been alive at this moment in time means one of two things as far as we can tell – Singer and co. are throwing the majority of this out the window and bringin new elements to shape their story into something not all together like the comic book arc OR given the appearance of McKellen and Stewart, their present day Kitty Pryde could be somehow transported back to an event in the timeline of Fassbender and MacAvoy – does that mean Ellen Paige is returning too?

We can only speculate for now!
