We catch up with the organisers of Dublin’s coolest event, the perfect way to spend sometime winding down from the chaos of shopping, writing that very long list to Santa and stuffing your face with Christmas cookies!
What is the Christmas Tea Party?
The Cosplay Christmas tea party is the first in a line of events to raise funds for a new convention Called Aka-con.
Where did the idea for it come from? Is it just for kids or is for grown ups too?
It is for the kid in us grownups, I am the youngest in my family, and as I got older, I lost the magic that Christmas used to have, it is only recently I realised that it is because I no longer view it in the same way as I had done as a child. So the whole idea of this is to let your inner child out, though real kids are more then welcome too.
What have you got planned for the day?
Well the first half of the day is the party, keeping it formal enough, there will be Cake and tea and sweets (everyone needs roses and quality street at Christmas!) And of Course TEA! We will have maids and butlers serving for the night, after that comes your present from Santa! You will also get a picture taken, once all that is done we will be wrapping it up with a Festive disco at the end.
How much does it cost? And what is included in the price of the ticket?
The tickets cost €20, That includes all food and tea consumed, your present with a retail value of €4-€8 (presents are randomised) and of course a photo shoot and disco
Are there any surprises in store for us on the day?
I am hoping to set a perfect atmosphere, I have been working hard to get it just right, fingers crossed it all works out to plan

Can we Cosplay at the event?
I certainly encourage people too!! I shall be for sure!! I will also be giving out a special prise for the best cosplay on the day! But shhhhh that’s a secret
Finally if you were trapped in an @rcade for eternity, what one game would you play to pass the time?
Well, I have always had a special place in my heart for the guilty gear series, the music is amazing… and Testament is sooo gawd damn sexeh!! I could look at him all day!
