Review: Godzilla (2014)

Although the last couple of years has seen a rise in adaptations, remakes and reboots, few come with the sheer legacy and pedigree of this one. With this year being it’s 60th anniversary, and all previously attempts at making a ‘western’ version trampling a line between somewhat lazy and outright insulting, this particular Godzilla film […]

Godzilla Historia, Part 4: Worm Guy And The Final Wars

At the end of Part 3, we left off with Toho having been put into somewhat of a sticky position. Despite consistent numbers up until that point, Godzilla’s popularity had declined severely with The Terror of Mechagodzilla. The franchise had seen it’s lowest attendance in theaters to date and it became obvious it was time […]

Channing Tatum Cast As Gambit For Future Film

Finally, we can wash the horrendous taste of X-Men Origins: Wolverine out of our mouths once and for all (okay, bar Deadpool), as it’s just come to light that Channing Tatum has been cast as Gambit for an upcoming film! As the X-Men: Days of Future Past promotion train rolls forward, producer Laura Schul Donner […]

Anthony says Happy Birthday

On a mild Spring day some four years ago, I volunteered to staff Arcade Con in it’s debut outing. Little did I know then that working at that event would be the opening for me gaining a new circle of trusted friends and showing me a whole other community within Ireland that I had absolutely […]

Review: 2000 AD – Prog 1880

Easily the most memorable and poignant cover in recent memory, this one. I’ve spent enough time gushing over Simon Davis’ simply stirring artistic work on the current Sláine run, but this front page truly shows how good he is at being both artistically strong and relevant to the story. The almost dull color pallet plays […]

Harmonix Bringing Back Amplitude With Kickstarter

Harmonix have become known for  being a defining force in music and rhythm based games, with both Rock Band and Dance Central being huge hits on the home console market. Before they had you boogieing down or shredding hard, they made a lesser known gem on the Playstation 2 called Amplitude. Despite being a success […]

Review: 2000 AD – Prog 1879

A new Judge Dredd story means Tharg’s mighty mascot gets on the cover again, and this time in a dull-coloured partial caricature. Provided by Phil Winslade, the cover art this week tells us one things; this will be a more action-oriented Dredd fable than perhaps the previous story. Combining the bold pose of the Judge […]
