Finally, we can wash the horrendous taste of X-Men Origins: Wolverine out of our mouths once and for all (okay, bar Deadpool), as it’s just come to light that Channing Tatum has been cast as Gambit for an upcoming film! As the X-Men: Days of Future Past promotion train rolls forward, producer Laura Schul Donner confirmed in an interview with Total Film that Tatum has been cast as Gambit, but would not speculate as to the nature of the project.
Considering the increasing rumors of X-Men Apocalypse, it’s looking likely Channing will be part of the ensemble. That said, perhaps the brand is increasing with yet more solo films? Either way, we might finally get a decent portrayal on screen for the Southern American!
