Wrap up warm, grab your scarf, heavy coat, mittens and walking boots. Don’t forget your mp3 player either because we pick the best tunes to listen to on cold and frosty mornings. Music to warm the heart and soul, uplifting without even having to try, these songs are sure to have you smiling as the cold air stings your nose and the wind and lyrics tickle your skin with goosebumps. (We can do pretty imagery too sometimes).
So what are you waiting for? Drag yourself out of that bed and start walking!
Counting Crows – Colour-blind
If you are trying to place where you heard this song… we’re not going to tell you! Nah we’re not that cruel and it’s not our intention to leave you hanging! Colour-blind comes from the Counting Crows third album ‘This Desert Life’ and featured in the smash hit movie ‘Cruel Intentions’. The album went platinum two months after its release.
Melody Gardot – Goodnite
Melody considers herself a ‘citizen of the world’ and when you are adored by millions of people across the globe, it makes sense to call yourself such. She is Buddhist, humanitarian and a macrobiotic cook as well as being a jazz and blues singer.
After being involved in a traffic accident which left her bed ridden for a year, Melody developed hyper sensitivity to light and sound and now wears dark shades permanently. She began writing music after her accident and believes it was a perfect therapy. Goodnite comes from her debut album ‘Worrisome Heart’.
Melody was recommended by Ciara Nolan – great choice and taste!
