We’re getting hardback graphic novels! AHEM! I’m jumping the gun here! Last week, if you’re following us on Facebook, you might have notice a post we shared. Neon Skies, from Rogue Comics Ireland took to Kickstarter to crowdfund the printing of their 128 graphic novel.
The team at Rogue Comics were asking for a tidy sum of €5,000. “Should we reach our goal, the funds will be used to cover the printing and distribution of our completed graphic novel.” In addition to the physical copies of the book, the Kickstarter would also cover costs for backer rewards. These include enamel pins, posters, t-shirts and more.
Five days into their Kickstarter campaign, the goal was reached. So in comes a stretch goal, an additional €2,000 would take the printing to the next level. Hardback books! Well I am super happy for the team because they have hit their stretch goal, already! At the time of writing Neon Skies has €7,205! If you needed an indication that support for Irish indie comics, then you need not look any further.
Congratulations to the entire team over Rogue Comics. I am super looking forward to getting my hands on my HARDBACK copy of Neon Skies when it’s fresh from the printers.
