Halloween is just around the corner, and here at the Arcade we have been filling your days with spooky tunes all week. So as the true hipster millennial piece of crap on this site, I have to take it upon myself to talk about memes. I mean Sonic music. I mean memes, as today we will be listening to that iconic king of rap slaying his beats with the ‘Pumpkin Hill’ rap from Sonic Adventure 2.
Unlike some people I’ve encounter on the internet, I actually unironically enjoy the Sonic Adventure 2 soundtrack. I grew up with that game and I can recite ‘City Escape’ perfectly at this point and I am not ashamed. But we aren’t talking about high energy butt rock today, instead we are focusing on the master of ceremonies himself, Knuckles the Echidna. To this day I have no idea why Sonic Team decided to go with a urban rap flare with all of Knuckle’s stages in the game, but my god I love them so much. Mix a slow beat with a confused rapper talking about pumpkins and you have comedic gold wrapped in an actually kind of chill track. Don’t get too spooped out there folks, watch out for clowns.
