It’s July 4th, a day of celebration for all our friends in the U.S. marking their day of Independence. There’s no better time for Marvel to unveil a brand new lineup of patriotic heroes for the next big Avengers spinoff comic: U.S. Avengers.
After leading the New Avengers, and finding himself on the wrong side of S.H.I.E.L.D, it seems Roberto Da Costa (sunspot) is set to make amends. Da Costa is set to turn his focus from a team of worldwide protectors, to a team based on U.S soil. Da Costa is also bringing a few of his New Avengers to the U.S Avengers, with everyone’s favourite Squirrel Girl , Cannonball and POD all sticking by his side.
Some of the newer faces joining the ranks include the Red Hulk (Thunderbolt Ross), Captain America (Danielle Cage – daughter of Luke Cage & Jessica Jones, but from the future) and a brand new Iron Patriot (Toni Ho, the daughter of Ho Yinsen, who helped Tony Stark build his first Iron Man suit to escape captivity). This patriotic squad is set to face off against a brand new villain in the Golden Skull.
You can expect U.S. Avengers #1 to land in the Autumn, when we can probably expect Civil War II to be wrapping up.
