In an interview for The Daily Beast about future Star Wars instalments, in which he will continue as an executive producer, J. J. Abrams was quizzed on whether any gay characters will feature in the galaxy far, far away.
He responded: “Of course! When I talk about inclusivity it’s not excluding gay characters. It’s about inclusivity. So of course. To me, the fun of Star Wars is the glory of possibility. So it seems insanely narrow-minded and counterintuitive to say that there wouldn’t be a homosexual character in that world”
It’s certainly comforting to hear Abrams isn’t ruling out the concept, and it goes without saying, it gives hope to every Finn x Poe shipper out there!
