The annual Academy Awards ceremony happened last night, the 88th in succession. Hosted by one Chris Rock, the awards took in many of Hollywood’s elite to celebrate the year of film that was 2015.
Of the winners, there were a few surprises. Spotlight managed to take ‘Best Picture’, while Mark Rylance took ‘Best Support Actor’ for his role in Bridge Of Spies. These were eclipsed, however, by the one and only Leonardo DiCaprio FINALLY getting his ‘Best Actor’ statuette for his leading performance in The Revenant.
Some other big winners include Mad Max: Fury Road, which took home most of the production categories, and Brie Larson, who rightfully got top prize in ‘Best Actress’ for her turn in Room.
