Divergent: Ascendant And Power Rangers Delayed In Lionsgate Reshuffle

Lionsgate has had to reshuffle some of its release dates, which unfortunately has resulted in delayed release dates for Divergent: Ascendant and Power Rangers of about two months.

Divergent: Ascendant, which is the fourth final film in the Divergent series and was originally set for release in March 2017, will now arrive in June. Power Rangers had a date of January 2017 but has been put back a couple of months moving it to the peak blockbuster season of March.

There is still the third Divergent film, Divergent: Allegiant, set for release March 18, 2016 and is still on schedule. The YA dystopian sci-fi series starring Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort has made almost $600 million at the box office in its first two installments with the next two likely to more than double that figure overall.

The Power Rangers reboot, which recently finished its cast, still hasn’t begun filming so moving it is no surprise. As yet there are virtually no actual details on what the finished film will belike.

The reason for the delays have not yet been released, but we are keeping an eye to see if there will be any more movies affected.
