Halloween may be over for another year (the wailing you’re hearing is probably me sobbing my heart out because… Halloween is awesome!) but that doesn’t mean horror has to go away for twelve months. Right guys? Right…? Well, in my household horror is watched almost daily and believe me when I say, there are some fantastically creepy horror shorts on Youtube right now that you all need to check out! So turn off all the lights, grab a weapon and hide behind cushion before looking at these little spooky beauties!
THE SMILING MAN
This little short had me a little freaked out, which doesn’t happen often. It’s the story of a man out late at night for a stroll and the man in question comes across a weird stranger who not only smiles at him, but follows him in the most bizarre and odd way. It has the most unsettling atmosphere and gives the perfect feeling of being watched and being followed down a dark street. It’s a short that you should definitely watch by yourself… and don’t forget to look behind you next time you’re walking home alone.
LIGHTS OUT
As a self confessed horror nut, I am someone who will watch anything in the dark by myself, yet I’m terrified of the dark… and this film did not help that in any which way! In fact, it’s one short film I try not to watch in the dark by myself. It gives me the creeps and will hopefully do the same for you! There’s not much to it, merely a story of a woman who may be seeing someone or something whenever she turns out the lights before going to bed. A few flickering light bulbs and you’ll be stressing out for the woman as she starts to panic herself.
COFFER
Another great atmospheric short horror! A women sits in a living room by herself before she hears scratching and creaking coming from a chest on the other side of the room. If the chest opens or not, and what is inside… well, that’s all part of the surprise and I won’t ruin it for you! Just give this one a watch and enjoy the creepy feeling!
BEDFELLOWS
Last but definitely not least is Bedfellows! A woman lays in bed next to her partner before she receives a phone call which leaves her questioning who exactly is actually laying beside her in the bedroom. The tense moment toward the end is one that may just stick with you tonight as you lay in bed beside your loved one…. or is it really your loved one?
