Here is what we know about Liam Neeson’s new project from the man himself.

“I’ve just signed up to do a film called Suspension, hanging from a bridge in New York – the George Washington Bridge.”

Suspension was written by Joss Whedon back in 1993 and sold for spec for $1 million according to Empire.  It’s a Die Hard style action thriller about a group of terrorists attacking the George Washington Bridge, and an ex-con called Harry Monk who teams up with the cops to deliver good old fashioned American justice.  It is assumed Liam Neeson will be playing Monk and doing the butt kicking.

There is not much more than that at this stage.  There is no director, studio or release date in place and it hasn’t been confirmed if this is the Whedon script.  But the fact that the Neeson movie takes place on the George Washington Bridge is too much of a coincidence to ignore.

It makes you wonder how many other spec scripts written by Joss Whedon are still out there, waiting to be plucked from a dusty shelf.  Whedon has had his fingers in a few script pies before this; Toy Story, Titan A.E, Alien Resurrection, and even writing (uncredited) dialogue for Speed.

Will Suspension be Mr. Whedon’s next film coming off of Avengers: Age of Ultron?
