Flappy Bird Creator to Launch New Game This Week
Dong Nguyen has recently announced that he will be releasing a new game called Swing Copters on Thursday for free on all smartphone platforms. Could it be as big as Flappy Bird is the big question?
The goal is to dodge the giant hammers and ledges as the man flies upwards through a series of taps with a point scored for every obstacle… so… basically a vertical Flappy Birds.
If you don’t remember Flappy Birds this was the app that became so popular purely because of the level of frustration as you played it. Flappy Birds was downloaded over 50 million times and resulted in Smartphones around the world being sold at ridiculous prices when the game was taken down. After the game was taken down there was a wave of clones spawned including tributes from Miley Cyrus to Boris Johnson!
As you can see from the clip the game has a very similar feel in that it is punishingly tricky gameplay. I’d even go as far as saying thanks to the swinging hammers this looks extra difficult. Can’t wait !
