As the result of a deal between Microsoft and BBC, Minecraft on the Xbox 360 is getting some exclusive official Doctor Who models. Minecraft, having sold more than 13 million copies on the 360, will see the 12th Doctor, Peter Capaldi, five other doctors and their companions, daleks and other key-Who villains come out in the first pack which will be available in September for $3, courtesy of IGN.
More packs are planned, each containing different characters from across the 50 year history of Doctor Who. Rikesh Desai, the Digital Entertainment and Games Director of BBC Worldwide UK stated on the deal “We’re constantly looking for new and innovative ways to bring Doctor Who content to our loyal fans. Working collaboratively with Microsoft, we’ve created an exciting new product which will allow Doctor Who fans to create their own brand new adventures in the heart of the iconic world of Minecraft”
