17-Bit, the indie developer with a old school mission statement is living up to exactly that with their latest title, Galak-Z: The Dimensional. The game is a homage to classic shoot em up space shooters of the past(Ikargua, Gradius) with a classic mecha anime style(Macros, Gundam). The game changes up the usual shoot em up mechanics however, as the game has rouge like elements, including perma death and an intense difficulty. The game will also allow you to collect coins mid battle to upgrade a ship before heading out to fight, quite similar to how Rouge Legacy allowed you to upgrade your keep. 17-Bit has released a new trailer for the game at Gamescom this week, so you can see for yourself just how awesome the game looks.
