Princess Rapunzel was doomed to a cursed life after she was granted healing powers by a powerful and magical flower, her new abilities lead to her kidnap by the devious Mother Gothel. Imprisoned in a tower in the middle of a huge forest Rapunzel has grown up knowing nothing of the outside world, her hair has also never been cut and has grown to over 70ft in length. However her luck changes when the charismatic and clumsy thief Flynn stumbles across the tower and finds/gets beaten up by the feisty Princess. Together they leave the tower to embark on a journey to find the floating lights before Rapunzel’s 18th birthday.
The latest fairy tale princess to get the Disney treatment, this cgi-animated film is just as charming and visually spectacular as the original Snow White. With some well known and recognisable voices joining the cast including, Many Moore, Zachary Levi and Ron Pearlman to name but a few, this is one Disney movie that everyone should go and see.
This is the stuff that good romantic comedies should b made of, so whether you plan on taking the kids or the girlfriend/boyfriend, this is a movie that certainly won’t disappoint anyone.

Brighton Rock
Definitely one of the best British films to come out in a long time, Brighton Rock is a gripping story of love, crime and morality. Ok, not the geekiest of things to be watching but you will just have to take our word on this one and go ahead and see it for yourselves. Sam Riley plays ‘Pinkie’ an up and coming gangster in the shady world of crime, a young man with a chip on his shoulder and sociopathic tendencies; he has something to prove to the world. Taking revenge on the man who betrayed their gang, Pinkie soon finds himself having to woo and convince a young girl, Rose, that he loves her.
Rose is a young girl working as a waitress, falls madly in love with Pinkie despite knowing of the brutal murder he committed and together the pair begin a relationship that will see Rose dragged down into darkness of Pinkie’s world unless her closest friend, Ida can save her from the man she believes she loves.
While the timeline from the novel and original movie differ to the remake, both were originally set in the 1930’s, the world of Mods and Rockers and the roaring 60’s is perfect for this retelling. Dame Helen Mirren has taken a step away from the glitz and glamour of big Hollywood movies and but has once more has shown herself as a woman with tremendous talent as an actress, breathing experience and an excellent performance into her role as Ida. If you are looking for something more than just a simple comedy, then be sure to check out Brighton Rock, doing just to the widely celebrated British noir novel of the same name.
