Silence of the Lambs
Universal Channel, Tuesday 7th December, 10pm
‘Hello Clarice’… one of the greatest thrillers ever made, the Oscar Award winning 1991 film, ‘Silence of the Lambs’, is screening Tuesday night. A serial killer is loose and preying on women, when the bodies are found they are missing their skin and the FBI has come to a dead end as far as their investigation is concerned. Agent Clarice Starling is charged with the task of meeting a once world renowned psychiatrist and profiler now imprisoned in a maximum security facility, Hannibal Lecter, serial killer and cannibal.
Clarice must somehow convinced Lecter to help her catch the killer but will she be able to survive Lecter’s games long enough to get the answers she needs?
The film stars Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins, Hopkins reprised his role for the two movies that followed this classic but Foster refused to take up the role as Starling and it went to Julianne Moore in ‘Hannibal’.
The film capped its success in the box office by taking five Academy Awards including Best Actress, Best Actor and Best Director. Foster would go on to win an additional two awards for her performance as Clarice Starling.
Storm Worlds: Alien Wind

There is still so much we don’t know about the world outside our own but thanks to amazing miracle of computers and CGi animation and some liberal hypothesis we can recreate certain conditions without ever having to leave the planet.
Storm Worlds takes a look at some of the amazing weather occurring in the depths of space, right as you are reading this amazing lightning storms rage, winds ten times more powerful batter alien planets and dust storms scar the face of planets millions of light years away.
In ‘Alien Wind’, to get a better understanding of the affect this weather would have, the programme delves into some of the more powerful storms that rage here on our own Earth from underwater hurricanes to typhoon hot-spots and using the awesome power of CGi the scientists turn these formidable natural forces on the city of San Francisco and watch how devastating they can truly be.
Other episodes in this series include ‘Cosmic Fire’ and ‘Deadly Dust’ all are featured on the National Geographic channel.
Old Boy

The second instalment in the ‘Vengeance Trilogy’ from acclaimed director Park Chan-wook, Old Boy is probably one of the most famous Korean movies. The 2003 film won over twelve awards all around the world and catapulted the series and Park Chan-wook into the limelight as one of the best filmmakers in the world.
Old Boy is the story of Oh Dae-Su, a man kidnapped off the streets on the day of his daughter’s birthday. Unsure as to why he is locked away from the world, clueless as to who is kidnappers are or what they want, Oh Dae-Su spends the next fifteen years pondering his faith, losing his mind and plotting his revenge against those who stole his life from him.
Waking up morning atop a roof, Dae-Su begins his plan to find the one responsible for his incarceration, the murder of his wife and the devastation of his name and family. Soon though he finds himself falling for a young sushi chef but can he trust her? With his captor tormenting him at every step, Oh Dae-Su finds himself wondering is he looking for revenge or for the truth?
Old Boy is a MUST see for everyone – beautifully shot and thought out plot with fantastic performances and soundtrack.
