We cover every sort of genre today and we even accidentally cover a KIDS game! So sit tight as we puzzle and destroy our way through Gods vs. Humans, we embarrassingly squeal with delight at Jungle Party and we brace ourselves for some fairy role playing…. that’s right you read that last part correctly *grunts*!

 Jungle Party

Console: PS3
Genre:
Party
Players:
1-4

Rating: 6/10

In all honesty we downloaded Jungle Party by accident, next time we will pay attention to what we click on and will double check before leaving the room to make pancakes! Do we regret downloading it? Sort of! It’s a fun little game and would happily keep small adults amused for hours but unfortunately our inner child was always a bit of a brat. What’s the point to the game? There isn’t really one – you play as a monkey doing his best to be… the best! To prove your worth you will have to challenge yourself and friends to some ridiculous mini-games.
This is perfect for kids and is designed to keep them happy as the monkeys fool around, doing silly tricks and being a nuisance. It’s simple gameplay; you are playing through 15 mini-games, from Elephant Baseball to flinging coconuts at each other (that was actually our favourite game) and trying to destroy each other’s lily pad boat.

To get the full enjoyment out of this game you’ve still got to being to primary school or at the very least by very immature. This isn’t a party game for big boys and girls unless you’re a mommy or daddy playing with the little ones. If you have a flock of babies to amuse for a few hours then this will work perfectly otherwise avoid it like you would a Teletubbie concert.

Faery: Legends of Avalon

Console: Xbox 360
Genre:
RPG
Players:
1

Rating: 8/10

Faery: The Legends of Avalon is worth every single penny you will pay for it. It’s been sometime since we were willing to invest in a downloadable RPG and we were a little apprehensive when it came to this title… we don’t usually judge a book by its title but it sounded a little daft to us. Well we put our hands up, the @rcade misjudged it and we’ve learned that real men can be Faeries too!
Faery: the Legends of Avalon is an RPG developed by ‘Spiders’ and is a feast for any fantasy buff. Delve into the world of Avalon as you create your own unique character with abilities and strengths, embark on an epic journey to uncover the mysteries that lay hidden within the Kingdom and face some terrifying foes.
Not only is the game a beautiful piece of storytelling and imagination, it is an awesome game to just watch with beautiful graphics and a fantastic gameplay system – easy to learn and with enough variety to keep you occupied.

We are still battling our way through Avalon but we’ve no problem in saying that this is probably our favourite game (that we downloaded) this year so far. If you are looking for a challenge and are too lazy to read a novel then get yourself a copy of Faery: The Legends of Avalon, you will thank us for the recommendation.

Gods vs. Humans

Console: Wii
Genre:
Puzzle/Strategy
Players:
2

Rating: 8.5/10

If Faery is our favourite game so far how come Gods vs. Humans has a higher rating? Simple! We here at the @rcade love any game with God Powers and the ability to use said God powers to destroy mortals, buildings and generally be b*st*rds!
You are a God, the embodiment of a diving figure from Egyptian, Roman, Japanese or Scandinavian lore, as a being of supreme power you watch over the humans and see to it they keep on track. Everything is going swimmingly until some snotty humans decide they want to be just like you and decide they want to get to your domain… by building huge towers!

Well that’s not on and it is up to you as a Divine being to show them the error of their ways. How? Why use your infinite almighty powers of wrath and bring their towers down around them.
Gods vs. Humans is a hilarious little game brought to us by Zallag publishers and is a challenging and colourful little strategy game.
We will say on a negative note that it can be a little too taxing at times and we’ve found it be lacking in any real longevity something which the multiplayer fails to remedy.
Still, it’s fun, cute and most of all… GOD POWERS!
