It’s Monday and here at The Arcade that means music.  Andy Kavanagh

High Score: The Evangelion Series

Most of you regular readers, and anyone who happens to be in my company for more than five minutes, will most likely be aware of the fact that I am a full-throttle, card carrying Evangelion obsessive. In my near-decade-long devotion to Eva, I’ve spent countless amounts of money on special edition DVD’s and blu-rays, countless […]

Music Monday: 3/2/2014

Music Monday has returned and what better way to get back in business than with a heavy helping of pop-tronica from all over the world.Well.Sweden and Japan. But who does it better, right? Andy Kavanagh

Music Monday: 6/1/2014

It’s the first Music Monday of 2014 and I am pleased to report that the January music drought hasn’t QUITE kicked in yet and while there is one track here that came out all the way back in 2013, chances are you haven’t heard it yet. You know what Charles Manson said in that Simpsons […]

'So why is it worth talking about?', I hear you ponder.

Music Monday: 16/12/2013

Beyonce dropped a veritable Thor’s hammer on the music world this weekend by pulling an entire new album out of thin air and while it’s undoubtedly the biggest music story this side of 2014 (take that, X-factor), Mrs. Carter has yet to upload a single full track for public consumption. So frack that, here’s some […]

HIGH SCORE: PUELLA MAGI MADOKA MAGICA

This week we're going to take a look at a score that was on my list from the very beginning and what is undoubtedly one of the best - if not the best - anime scores of the last decade; Yuki Kajiura's incredible, eclectic work on Puella Magi Madoka Magica.

REVIEW: FROZEN

The first time I saw Tangled, Disney's last fairytale musical, I loved it with a full stop. The first time I saw Frozen, their latest fairytale musical, I loved it with a 'but…'. So I watched it a second time. And that's all it took.
