The recent mainline entries to the WWE 2K series have been on the decline, suffering from stale design and numerous glitches & bugs. Earlier this year, some players of WWE 2K20 even suffered game crashes and were unplayable to play the title completely. This ironically happened from January 1st 2020.
With a WWE 2K21 has been cancelled, a new title steps up and it looks to bring some over-the-top arcade goodness to the mix. WWE 2K Battlegrounds ditches the simulation aspect and introduces a bombastic art style, power moves and silliness. It will be developed by Saber Interactive, the studio behind NBA 2K Playgrounds and fighters will include superstars like The Rock, John Cena and Ireland’s own Becky Lynch.
No date or platforms announced for the game just yet, but the trailer says it will be coming this Autumn.
