Marvel have released the first trailer for Doctor Strange.
“Forget everything that you think you know” , a fitting quote from the teaser, as the magical part of the Marvel universe finally gets a look in.
The trailer plays like a mix between Batman Begins and Inception. For the visuals alone this will definitely be a film worth seeing on the biggest screen possible! Marvel have been touting that Doctor Strange will go some very, well, strange places for the MCU, and they weren’t kidding.
Successful surgeon, Steven Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), first name-dropped in Captain America: Winter Soldier will see his world ripped apart after a terrible car accident renders him incapable of performing surgeries, due to the injuries he sustains to his hands. Guided by the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton) he eventually learns to wield the power of magic, exposing himself to a world of possibility as he rises to the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme; Earth’s line of defence against all threats magical.
In addition to the trailer, Marvel released a pair of posters for the movie, which you can see below:
Marvel’s Doctor Strange will be released later this year on November 4.

I got an Inception vibe as well. I’m glad it’s taking risks. Although I can say I do enjoy most superhero movies. Albeit with some exceptions (cough, cough Fant4stic cough), I do admit they can be quite predictable and cookie cutter at times. I hope they only release one more trailer for this. I want to experience it on the big screen. On a side note, did they really give Cumberbatch an American accent. Really?
