Fox is currently developing a TV series based on the classic horror film The Exorcist, and Academy Award winner Geena Davis has been added to the cast.
The series, which is going to be a modernized version of the story, will be a “psychological thriller” in which two men take on a family’s case of demonic possession. Those two men were cast last week as Ben Daniels and Alonso Herrera were both added to the pilot as the priests who end up facing down the face of pure evil.
Davis‘ character has also been revealed as Angela Rance, a member of the family of the possessed victim. Described as “regal and proud”, Rance suffers from demonic nightmares that she ponders may be related to what ails her family.
The pilot, written by Jeremy Slater and directed by Rupert Wyatt, currently has no filming date but one is expected soon as the cast fills up.
