In August, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced the development of a Star Wars themed area in Disneyland California and Orlando…’Star Wars Land’. New artwork, released by Harrison Ford as part of an ABC special, shows attractions ranging from a ride allowing visitors to pilot the Millenium Falcon, an immersive journey through a First Order battlefield and even to a real life Catina for the purpose of refreshments!
The park should cover over 14 acres, allowing any visitors to become fully immersed in the world of Star Wars, as developer Scott Trowbridge states the point is “Bringing Star Wars to life in the physical world gives us the opportunity to play with a whole bunch of things we’ve never done before … to really engage all of the senses. What does that street feel like? What does that animal smell like? What does blue milk taste like?” The park is expected to begin development sometime this year.
