Now this is a little treat for the ears right here. Dublin-based alternative pop-punk band Beware of You have released their debut music video for ‘I’ll Forget You’ off of their EP Self Portraits.
The song has a harder edge than a lot of pop-punk tracks, probably due to the band’s self-admitted post-hardcore influence, but the female lead vocals brings it back down a notch to stop it becoming too harsh for radio play – no A Day To Remember-style growls in here, even though the band lists them as an influence.
This is my first exposure to Beware of You (not living in Dublin makes it a bit hard to keep up with the underground music scene, after all) but I really, really like what I hear so I’ll be following these guys as they grow for sure. Definitely worth a look if you’re a fan of Paramore or other female-led punk!
