The popular Power Rangers TV series, as many will know, is adapted from footage taken from the Super Sentai series in Japan. The ever popular Super Sentai series generally sees a brand new release every year, which introduces a whole new team, story, and villains.
The upcoming season, titled Dobutsu Sentai Zyuohger, will feature a return to animal inspired ‘rangers’ and will once again have a female ‘blue ranger’, which we have not seen since Mystic Force in the English versions.
The team line-up for the February premiere consists of the red eagle ranger, the yellow lion ranger, the blue shark ranger, the green elephant ranger and the white tiger ranger.
Dobutsu Sentai Zyuohger will also mark the 40th anniversary in the Japanese Super Sentai series, so we’re sure to see some team ups and tie-ins throughout. Not on that, no doubt if the Power Rangers‘ popularity continues to flourish in the western world, we will surely see this series adapted in English as well.
