Cast your minds back to season two of The CW’s Arrow and you might recall mention of Doctor Light.

screen-shot-2014-04-02-at-7-03-35-pmThe little Easter Egg saw The Flash regular Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) pick up and use a light based weapon, a gadget created by Arthur Light. Light was fired from S.T.A.R. labs for his behaviour and ‘because he was a psycho’.

Now it seems that was a bit of foreshadowing andwe’re actually going to see the character step into a role on the next season and TVLINE are reporting that we will see the female Doctor Light, Kimiyo Hoshi, who was a hero unlike her male counterpart.

Doctor Light was first introduced in Justice League #12 in 1962 and would go on to trouble both the Flash and Teen Titans appearing as a villain the animated version of the latter. The character would go on to gain massive notoriety amongst fans after it was revealed he was a serial rapist in the Identity Crisis mini series.

Kimiyo Hoshi who also uses the name Doctor Light, was introduced in 1985 but has not yet appeared in the New 52 reboot of the DC Comics Universe.

There has been no word yet on who will take on the role of Doctor Light but be sure we’ll keep you posted!

Who would you cast to play Kimiyo Hoshi? Let us know in the comments below!
