Tom Hardy Confirms Three More Mad Max Films

MMFRGiven what we’ve seen of the trailers, the new Mad Max, Mad Max: Fury Road,  looks dam good. And it should, as Warner Bros. are playing long ball with the franchise. In an interview with Esquire, Tom Hardy’s spilled on the beans on the plan, should the film do well. Basically, they’ve a lot laid out, not least of which is main star Hardy having been signed on for three MORE films – as long as this first one does well, of course.
The article reads: “As for the pressure, Hardy says it’s enormous. “I’ve never been more excited and out of my comfort zone.” He’s seen the film, and says it’s “”ucking unbelievable”. He’s attached to a further three Mad Max films, though as he says, “Everything’s based on figures and how things are perceived. Inevitably it’s a business.”
Considering Mad Max creator George Miller is the one directing Fury Road, this isn’t surprising – he wanted to a two-parter back-to-back for this new Max adventure, but WB obviously wanted to make sure it was still bankable. Looking at the trailers, and the response to them, I think the future of this new Mad Max is very safe and Hardy would do well to keep his schedule clear for more dystopic adventure.
