Daniel Bruhl Added As Villain To Marvel Movie-verse
More mystery casting incoming for the Marvel movie-verse as Daniel Bruhl, of A Most Wanted Man and Inglorious Basterds fame, has been added to the cast for phase 3. He will be appearing in Captain America: Civil War, and will likely be continuing onto Doctor Strange then, Variety reports.
His role in Civil War will be a limited one, hence the speculation of being a more mainline character in Doctor Strange. Speaking on the casting, Kevin Feige wrote on twitter, “With Daniel’s ability to deliver intense, nuanced performances, we knew we had found yet another great actor to share the screen with some of our biggest heroes.”
Something tells me the floodgates are being opened on characters we’ll be seeing in phase 3 with this announcement. Beginning with Civil War and having almost all new character films and a firm reliance on the cosmic Marvel universe means these films are going to be big in scale, and that means more characters, both good and evil, coming out of the woodwork. Apart from a small handful of their casting, Marvel have made a point of giving big breaks to great actors with their films. Mixing up and comers with reliant superstars has kept the films feeling fresh and kept a vitality to what remains a very ambitious project.
