Given the season that’s in it, Nintendo is getting in to the Halloween spirit. From now until October the 31st via the Nintendo Network, you can download the super size Pumpkaboo – a grass and ghost-type pokemon comes with special moves, Trick-or-Treat and Scary Face. You will also get the special item Rocky Helmet which deals damage to attackers.
And that’s not all, if you trade the Pokemon with a friend, it will evolve into Super Size Gourgeist and you’ll be able to compete in the Trick-or-Treat Friendly online competition that Nintendo will be holding this month. If you want to compete all you need is your 3DS, a copy of X or Y and the Super Size Gourgeist in your battle box.
The competition is a single battle competition limited to only Ghost-type Pokemon. Registration opens on the October 16th and goes until October 23rd or until all the slots are filled. Be sure to register as soon as possible as spaces are limited.

Who’s looking forward to the Jem and the Holograms movie?  Universal is, as they prepare for a movie adaptation of the Hasbro ’80s animated series. The movie will follow the adventures of Jerrica Benton, a music company owner who has a singer alter-ego named Jem and band the Holograms.

Universal has announced that the film will be in theaters on October 23, 2015 with Jon M. Chu is attached to direct and Ryan Landels to script. Aubrey Peeples will play as Jem, and her Holograms will be played by by Stefanie Scott, Aurora Perrineau, Hayley Kiyoko, Ryan Guzman, Molly Ringwald and Juliette Lewis.

The next installation of the hugely profitable Saw series could be with us as soon as 2016 account to a new interview with producers Mark Burb and Oren Koules.
Chatting to ShockTillYouDrop, Koules revealed that filmmakers James Wan and Leigh Whannell “were so afraid of being the Saw guys. They were trying to make their own mark”. Well they neeedn’t have worried about that. Wan has moved on to The ConjuringInsidious and next year’s Fast & Furious 7. Meanwhile, Leigh Whannell is in post-production on Insidious Chapter 3.
“They’re very comfortable to come back”, Koules continued. “James and Leigh are absolutely going to put their mark on it. It’s one of the reasons we agreed to do this again”.
Nothing is set in stone yet, but the machinations are in place for a new Saw movie.

Earlier this week we received confirmation that a standalone LEGO Batman movie was on the way, with Will Arnett returning to lend his vocal talents to the brick version of Gotham’s finest hero. Now it seems we have more news with release dates announced: First up in the world of LEGO films, we’ll still be getting LEGO Ninjago, and that’s set to land on September 23rd 2016. The LEGO Batman Movie, meanwhile, will take a May 26th 2017 release slot. And that means that The LEGO Movie 2 is likely earmarked for May 25th 2018. More news on his as we hear it.

If you’re looking for the biggest star of the year of either gender when it comes to science fiction, look no further than Scarlett Johansson. Now it seems she’s going to get a whole lot bigger with the reports that Johansson has been offered the lead role of the long mooted live action adaptation of manga Ghost In The Shell.
Ghost In The Shell is being directed by Rupert Sanders, who last helmed Snow White And The Huntsman. William Wheeler has penned the screenplay.
There’s no word yet on whether Johansson is taking the role or not, but if she does, she’ll apparently secure herself a $10m+ payday. More as we hear it.
