Google showed us the light with Chromecast, but now everyone wants to get in video streaming.
Unlike the Chromecast, which requires a network connection to serve content, the Wireless Display Adapter receives content directly from your PC or device. The lastest entry to this is Microsoft, which announced its Display Adapter as the latest way to get the videos and presentations from your PC to the nearest TV. It will also work with plenty of devices including Android tables and smartphones. All it needs is a HDMI input on the TV and a free USB port for the power.
The solution is quite different however in that it is much simpler. It just mirrors the device, projecting whatever is on your computer to the TV screen, meaning that it is entirely dependent on your PC
This will come in handy for frequent travellers who need to make presentations. No need for Wi-Fi access or anything. Simply plug in and work away.
The Microsoft Display Adapter is coming in October for $59.95 / €50 approx.
