Ghibli’s Princess Kaguya English Trailer released
This film is probably the most awaited animated film of Ghibli since “The Wind Rises” and the news of the break the studio would be taking. Monday saw the release of the English dub trailer for “The Tale of the Princess Kaguya” by Isao Takahata (Nausicaa, Pom Poko) and Studio Ghibli.
The film is based on a famous Japanese folktale “The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter” or Taketori Monogatari, which is centred on Kaguya a princess that was discovered as a baby in the stalk of a glowing bamboo plant.
The trailer shows is the film has a serious bunch of names to the English dub, Chloë Grace Moretz (Carrie, Kick-Ass) taking the lead role as Princess Kaguya. Other voices we are going to hear are James Caan, Lucy Liu, Darren Criss, Beau Bridges and James Marsden.
The film is set to be released in North America on October 17th.
