Twin V Twin – Top Twins in Pop Culture
Everyone wants to be a twin, don’t deny it you’ve thought of it! And why wouldn’t you be – afterall there are so many pop culture twin legends to live up to! So grab your friend, stick on matching outfits and get ready for some double trouble from Mairead and Therese.

OK so there are real twins out there that are very important to the world but for this list we focused on those that entertained us through our childhood and beyond in the fictional world of TV and games.
5. Phoebe and Ursula Buffay, Friends
These twins defined good twin vs. evil twin for me in the best way possible. Phoebe bless her was innocent, goodhearted and very funny! Ursula on the other hand was one heck of a bad ass: a porn career, a fling with Joey and an engagement to Sean Penn. So much fun to watch even if it was just Lisa Kudrow the whole time.
4. Tia and Tamera, Sister Sister
Twins in real life, their show always made me think about how I would react if I met Therese randomly on the street if our parents and given us up for adoption… Don’t entirely know if it would have as much hilarious consequences but you could always dream. What I loved about these girls is that even though they have the same face they have entirely different personalities . This was a big deal for me (and Therese ) when I was little. All the time people assumed that we were the exact same… thankfully the Mowry sisters clarified that ! I’m sure they showed that maybe just maybe there might be a twin somewhere out there for everyone.
3. Phil and Lil DeVille, Rugrats
The best of friends, these fraternal babies were alike in almost every way. Their matching overalls to their favourite meals.
2. The Twins, Matrix Reloaded.
Wha’ts more creepy than a baddie who never says a word? Twin baddies who say twice as less !
1.Mario and Luigi
Not many people know this but these brothers are actually fraternal twins. Luigi is a few minutes younger, which a lot of people believe explains why Mario is the more assertive one (I’m a few minutes older than Therese and I’m not that bossy…. I swear ! )

I think it’s safe to say that twins are an important matter to both of us so lets continue with some of the twins that have and continue to influence the twinny culture!
5. Patty and Selma, The Simpsons
The Simpson‘s infamous twin sisters, Patty and Selma are the chain-smoking croaking sarcastic sisters of Marge Simpsons who both work at the DMV. They are literally the characters that “suck the life out of everything!”
4. Fred and George Weasly
The ultimate magical duo! This duo, born on April 1st this michevous set of troublemakers provided much of the comic relief in the Harry Potter series. Check out a collection of their best moments here.
3. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen
We know, we know. Say what you will about these two — but if you were a little girl in the early-to-mid ‘90s, you most likely went through or knew someone who had a major Mary-Kate and Ashley phase. Also did you know they’re not actually identical twins??
2. Luke and Leia Skywalker
While preparing for a last battle with the Empire, Luke reveals to Leia that she is, in fact, his twin sister and that Darth Vader is their father. Initially reluctant to believe him, Leia somehow realizes that Luke speaks the truth.
As some of you might know, twins run in the Skywalker family as Leia, later gives birth to the twins Jaina and Jacen.
Astute viewers might ask why, if Leia somehow “always knew” that Luke was her twin brother, she decided to kiss him. Sure, it’s gross, but we’ll cut ‘em some slack; after all, they did save the galaxy and there are worse twins out there!!
1. Jamie and Cersei Lannister
The number one on my list purely based on the reason that they are completely messed up!
Like all great twin characters in this list, Cersei and Jaime Lannister are incredibly devoted to each other. However unlike the rest on this list, this villainous pair share a lot on intimate moments – (OK Luke and Leia kissed but these pair take it a bit further…like way further). There’s not much weirder than twincest, especially once you add in the fact that they have kids.
