Ahead of the 2015 Platinum Dunes helmed remake, it appears we’ll be seeing Crystal Lake on the silver-screen sooner rather than later. According to Deadline, Emmet/Furla/Oasis Films and Crystal Lake Entertainment have signed to deal to make an hour long TV show based on the iconic horror series.
Sean S. Cunningham, the director of the 1980 original, will serve as Executive Producer of the project along with a large production team, among them Horror Inc. president Robert Barsamian who had this to say about Jason’s return on the small screen “Expect the show to take viewers in some exciting new directions that we’re confident will not only excite existing fans of Friday The 13th but also attract new audiences to the situations and characters that inhabit the small town of Crystal Lake.”
Scripting duties will be handled by Bill Basso (Terminator) and Jordu Schell (Avatar) who will create “a storyline that re-imagines Jason in multiple time periods.”
As yet no release date or official title has been revealed.
