Shadow of the Eternals, the Kickstarter title that could, has been put into development limbo according to the games message boards. Denis Dyack, the Chief creative officer at Precursor Games, has posted a message on the official message boards stating that the team is “taking a break”. Dyack went on in the post to say that the project is not dropped entirely, just that it needs time.
“Is the project dead? No, but we feel it needs a rest too. We have all agreed as a group that when and if the time is right we will get together and start it up again”.
The title already has a bumpy history, with two attempts at Kickstarter campaigns, both times missing their target by a huge margin. With such a hard time trying to get the game off the ground through crowd funding, it’s hard not to feel a little doubtful that the game will ever see the light of day, which will sadden many fans of the series, myself included!
