“Regrettably, some people who downloaded the digital pre-order of Grand Theft Auto V through the PlayStation Store in Europe were able to access certain GTA V assets”.

Fans of the Grand Theft Auto series that had gone out of their way to pre-order the GTA V were given the ability to download certain files which would mean that when the game launched these gamers wouldn’t have to wait as long/download as much and be ahead of the curve of gamers waiting to buy on the day!  However individuals with the knowledge and abilities to dig deeper gained access to more than just the pre-release files and files that were not intended for release including the game’s soundtrack were taken and posted online.

“These assets were posted online. We have since removed the digital pre-order file from the PlayStation Store in Europe. We sincerely apologize to Rockstar and GTA fans across the world who were exposed to the spoiler content. GTA V is one of the most highly anticipated games of the year with a very passionate following, and we’re looking forward to a historic launch on September 17.”
